To help you decide, here’s a quick list of the company driver opportunities at Carter:

Teams

Team drivers at Carter can get up to 5,000 miles per month along with weekly home time, up to three weeks of paid vacation each year, and no-touch freight. With our $7,500 sign-on bonus and quarterly bonus programs, team drivers can earn up to $97,000 in their first year.

Dedicated

Our dedicated company drivers run consistent routes, giving you predictable home time and allowing you to make strong connections with the customers along your route. Our dedicated drivers average$67,000 per year and are eligible for multiple bonus programs, including our$2,400 sign-on bonus, fuel incentive and driver referral bonus.

Regional

Routes for our solo regional drivers typically have them out for 2-3 nights per week. Although mileage varies between routes, you’ll be home at least two days per week - sometimes even more often. With our new pay package, our regional drivers earn an average of $70,000 per year. They’re also eligible for our sign-on bonus and other bonus programs.

Driver trainer

Interested in mentoring and training new drivers? Our driver training program might be the perfect role for you. Teach new drivers the ins and outs of truck driving and how to stay safe on the road while earning additional income. Aaron Kane, one of our driver trainers, says it isn’t really the money that makes being a driver trainer worthwhile, but rather the ability to teach the next generation of drivers.

“I do this so that drivers will be taught the right way at Carter, just like I was taught,” he says. “I will have to share the road with these future drivers as well as other motorists and it is crucial that these trainees get the skill set needed to do this on their own.”

All Carter Express drivers enjoy competitive pay, frequent home time and state-of-the-art equipment. In order to drive for Carter, applicants must be at least 21 years old, have a current CDL-A or qualify for our training program, verifiable 3-year work history, and an acceptable motor vehicle report.
